Objectives:
Provide Cal State students a summer research experience at an R1 university in order to familiarize them with life in academia and facilitate application to graduate school in STEM.
Expectations and Outcomes:

Participate in the Mentoring Summer Research Internship Program (MSRIP) at UCR.

Engage in hands-on research to enhance their graduate school application.

Participate in MSRIP workshops on career development and applying to graduate school.

Present their results at the MSRIP Symposium along with 60+ other students.

Meet with a UCR faculty mentor and their lab at UCR.

Experience how an R1 lab operates.

Participate in lab meetings by Zoom.

Interact with graduate students and postdocs in the lab.

Follow up with the research experience at their Cal State campus.

Become part of the larger CUSP/BB2P network.
